Building the House We've Dreamed About for Years
After more than a decade living in bunkhouses, above-the-barn lofts and 800-square-foot ranch cabins, we’re finally building the house we’ve always talked about. It’s not flashy or over-designed—it’s a practical, hardworking ranch house made for boots at the door, big family dinners, and a life lived mostly outside. But I also wanted it to feel beautiful and considered, with timeless materials and details that tell our story.
I’ve spent the past year picking every tile, window, fixture, appliance and finish in this house. No designers, no trends—just what felt right for us. Durable natural stone, unlacquered brass, forged metal hardware, wide-plank floors, and appliances that can handle four growing girls and a freezer full of home-raised beef. Every piece was chosen with our lifestyle in mind, and every decision was made by me—with plenty of coffee and late-night Pinterest scrolling.

WAYFAIR : LIGHTS + BATHROOMS + TILE
A LOT of the light fixtures, bathroom fixtures, tile and decor I got from WAYFAIR. They ship quick, are reasonably priced, GREAT at returns - and really good quality for the prices I’ve found. I put a board together of most of those items on a Wayfair page HERE!. Most lighting are $85-120 range, except the big ones.
LOWES : Light fixtures, tile, etc
I had some good luck at Lowes too - the big chandeleit light fixtures above the island were in stock there and we LOVE them! Very reasonably priced.
And the quilt print black-and-white tile in the Guest Shower is one of my favorites… it was in stock at our local Lowes - or you can find it online here :

This is the Washer + Dryer sets we picked - got good reviews at great prices - time will tell! :)
