CARHARTT

Carhartt is my favorite brand for working on the ranch, lounging at home, or heading out on date night… all the things! I’ve been a Carhartt ambassador for almost 10 years now and their women’s line keeps getting better and better. I used to think Carhartt was just for trade workers (and was a little jealous how cool my construction worker friends looked wearing their worn in gear) but it didn’t take me long to regret not buying Carhartt clothes so much sooner. Carhartt has expanded their brand so much and they are great for anybody - no matter what you do or where you wear them.

Here are a few of my go-tos, but I also blogged about ALL of my favorite pieces listed HERE, HERE, and HERE.

WELLNESS

  • Five Marys Beef Tallow is my new go-to skincare for…. EVERYTHING! A small jar can last your for several months… a little bit goes a very long way. It’s deeply moisturizing and is packed with skin-nourishing nutrients. I wrote a blog about all of the benefits - you can read HERE.

  • ZICAM Cold Remedy Medicated Nasal Swabs are a lifesaver around here… being sick isn’t really any option on the ranch! :) At the first sign of a cold, use these medicated nasal swabs and it’ll will speed up the process so you’re not out for long. They are zinc-free, homeopathic, and include cooling menthol and eucalyptus.

  • Birthright Supplements is a small business that my friend, Amy, launched. They have great, clean supplements for your liver, organs, fertility, hormone support, and more… and most of them are for women of all ages! Use code 5MARYS for 15% off!

  • Green Juice is something that I’ve been making for years. Often times I crave it after a while of not drinking any… it’s SO healthy and tastes so refreshing. I linked my favorite juicer down below!

  • Cowboy Colostrum is a new addition to my morning routine. If I have a coffee, I’ll mix this colostrum powder in it. This company uses minimal ingredients and is very clean - you can trust it! Colostrum supports gut health, immunity, radiant skin, and more.

  • Five Marys Bone Broth is nutrient-packed and can be a lifesaver during the cold winter months. You can use in soups or just drink right out of a mug!

STAUB

My favorite cast iron these days is 100% Staub USA (and I now know it’s pronounced ShTOW-B, rhymes with robe!)

They are my favorite for cooking and they clean so easily, and the best part – they come already seasoned! So you very rarely have to take all those steps above to deep clean or season. Staub pots and pans give you all the benefits of cooking in cast iron but they are super easy to clean and care for! The price tag reflects their quality and craftsmanship, and I can tell you it’s worth it. Once you try them, you’ll be hooked. I certainly am. Here are a few of my favorite pieces, but you can see other that I wrote about HERE.

KITCHEN APPLIANCES

  • The Breville Air Fryer is a game changer in the kitchen! You can air-fry or dehydrate a full menu of foods… French fries, donuts, fried chicken, jerky, and dried fruits just to name a few. There are 13 preset functions, two oven racks, and it’s big enough to toast 9 slices of bread at a time.

  • The Wolf Slow Cooker is definitely an investment - but you’ll have this thing forever! It cooks meat so evenly and has so many functions for things like sauté, rice, and sous vide. Plus, it’s worth it to cook in stainless steel which is really hard to find in a slow cooker (and important!)

  • The Housnat Slow Cooker is a great budget-friendly option compared to the Wolf. It is stainless steel and you can make so many different things in this - rice, yogurt, etc. and it has delay start, a steaming rack, and a digital timer - this is a great one!

  • The All-Clad Slow Cooker is an all-in-one matching that slow-cooks, steams, browns, sautés, and keeps the finished dish at the ideal temperature for serving. From braises and stews to soups, chili, and rice dishes - they all have predictably delicious results with this.

  • The Instant Pot is a great tool for the kitchen with so many uses. I love it for cooking rice quickly, homemade applesauce, soups, stews, and so much more.

  • The heavy-duty Waring Juicer is my favorite juicer - and I’ve tried a lot of them. This one holds up the best, is easy to clean, and a real powerhouse. It’s definitely an investment, but if you are going to juice often or what one that will never break - this is the one.

  • This is definitely a splurge, but if you love having nugget ice right at home, this Nugget Ice Maker is sooooo good! It’s stainless steel and sits right on your countertop for all-day nugget ice at the ready :)

  • When we built our ‘Big Kitchen’ in the old ranch house, we added a Dry Ager in the kitchen and we can’t believe how incredible it is. We already dry-age our Five Marys meat, but if you are interested in adding an extended dry-ager into your home, this is a great company to work with.

  • The KitchenAid Stand Mixer has a new version with this beautiful wooden bowl. I love how it looks in my kitchen - I just have it out all the time on my counter. It has 10 mixing speeds and comes with a dough hook, flat beater, and wire whip.

AROUND THE RANCH

  • After trying every vacuum out there - the ProTeam Commercial Vacuum is the holy grail of vacuums! It’s basically a super powerful shop-vac that you wear on your back. It has a super long extension cord and will power through ranch life level dirt. It doesn’t clog and it’s easy to empty out the dirt in the bag and keep on trucking.

  • I don’t really drink coffee, but Brian doesn’t leave the house in the morning without a travel mug full of Black Rifle Coffee Co …he has several more during the day too :) He is friends with the owners of this small business, and we love supporting this great company.

  • Brian hikes up the mountain almost everyday and he loves this Garmin to track all of his movement during the day. It’s pricey, but has so many cool features. THIS ONE is another great Garmin product, but a lot less expensive.

  • We’ve got so many tactical and pocket knives on the ranch between the 6 of us, but this Tactical Knife is Brian’s favorite. It is great to keep in the rig for any type of project that comes up on the ranch.

  • We haven’t had a TV in the house for years, but we do love the Lumi Movie Screen for projecting movies and the Rodeo National Finals! We’ve moved this around so much - in the house, in the yard, traveling with us to rodeos, etc. It’s great quality and super easy to set up and take down.

  • The Petzl Duo Headlamp is truly the Cadillac of headlamps. We’ve tried so many headlamps, and Brian likes this one the best by far. It’s definitely pricey, but you can usually find a 20% off code on outfitter websites.

SHOES & SOCKS

  • I swear by Duck Feet Boots during fall and winter to keep my feet warm, dry, and so cozy. They have a thick rubber sole with great traction, easy to slip on and off, and clean up well if I get them muddy. They are European sizing and I’d say true to size, but shearling will mold to your feet, so maybe size down if you’re in between sizes.

  • During muddy on the ranch, you can find BOGS Boots everywhere around there! There’s no bad weather, just bad clothing choices… right?! We’ve worn BOGS boots for years and years and they hold up so well on the ranch. The girls and I even had an opportunity to team up with BOGS and create a custom Five Marys design :)

  • We can have pretty harsh winters on the ranch, and I love staying cozy when we’re in the house, so these Birkenstock Clogs have been great to slip on and off when we come and go. They are shearling lined so they keep my feet nice and warm… the girls love these too.

  • Darn Tough Socks are just all-around a great product. They hold up really well and are nice and tight on your feet while keeping them really comfortable at the same time. If you’re looking for some nice new socks and haven’t tried these - I highly recommend them!

  • Brian hikes up the mountain on the ranch almost every day, and he loves these LOWA Boots to keep his feet comfortable, and transition from hiking right back to ranch work. They have great traction and hold up really well in all sorts of elements.

FAMILY GAMES

I come from a very competitive family, and my mom was always making games out of everything for us. Now whenever we’re visiting family, you can bet that there will be multiple games and puzzles out for everyone. My favorite is Rummikub, but all of these are so great. I love pulling them out for a lazy afternoon with the girls.
