Teriyaki Style Beef Fried Rice
Serves: 4-6
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes
Ingredients
1 pound Five Marys ground beef
1 small onion, finely diced
2 cloves garlic, smashed
1 red bell pepper, cored and diced
2 cups broccoli florets
2 carrots, shredded or grated on box grater
3 cups day-old cooked white rice
Sesame seeds for garnish
Chopped green onions for garnish
For the teriyaki sauce
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup thick teriyaki sauce
1 teaspoon yellow mustard
1 teaspoon rice vinegar
Cracked black pepper to taste
1 teaspoon sesame oil
For the yum yum sauce
1/2 cup mayo
2-3 tablespoons sambal or chili paste
1 teaspoon sesame oil
Cracked black pepper to taste
Instructions
In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and onion over medium-high heat.
Add the garlic and veggies, then sauté 2-3 minutes; this will give the veggies a bit of a crunch, but if you prefer them softer, sauté longer.
Add the rice to the vegetables and cook for 3-4 minutes.
While the rice and veggies cook, whisk together the teriyaki sauce ingredients.
Pour the sauce over the rice mixture and gently fold into itself to evenly distribute. Continue to cook for 2-3 minutes.
Whisk the yum yum sauce ingredients and set aside.
To serve, dish up bowls of the rice and veggies, and garnish with sesame seeds, green onions, and a drizzle of the spicy yum yum sauce.
Enjoy!
