Teriyaki & Caramelized Pineapple Sliders

Teriyaki & Caramelized Pineapple Sliders with Thai Basil Mayo

Makes : 8 sliders

INGREDIENTS :

1 pound Five Marys Farms ground beef

1 teaspoon olive oil

8 slider buns

8 thinly sliced fresh pineapple rings, sliced in half

8 butter lettuce leaves

Simple teriyaki sauce

1/2 cup soy sauce

2-3 tablespoons brown sugar

1 teaspoon sesame seeds

1 garlic clove, minced

1 teaspoon yellow mustard

1/4 teaspoon cracked black pepper

Thai basil mayo

1 cup mayonnaise

1 cup Thai basil

1 small garlic clove

Kosher salt and pepper to taste

INSTRUCTIONS :

  1. Divide the hamburger into 8 even portions.

  2. Form each portion into a round, flat patty.

  3. Fry the patties in the olive oil over medium-high heat 6-8 minutes. Remove the patties and set aside.

  4. Fry the pineapple in the same pan with the hamburger drippings until golden and caramelized, about 2 minutes per side.

  5. To assemble the sliders, place 1 teaspoon mayo on the bottom slider bun.

  6. Put meat on the bun, spoon teriyaki sauce over top, and top with a few slices of caramelized pineapple and the butter lettuce. Serve hot!

  7. To prepare the teriyaki sauce, whisk all ingredients in a bowl, and set aside.

  8. To prepare Thai basil mayo, whirl all ingredients in the food processor until thoroughly chopped and mixed well.
